Privacy notice
Who we are
Charlie & Ash (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a women’s health and wellness coaching business based in New Zealand. This notice explains what personal information we collect through our website and coaching, why we collect it, who holds it, and the choices you have. We handle your information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.
The person responsible for privacy questions is Charlie Butler (Director), contactable at hello@charlieandash.co.nz or in writing at Charlie and Ash Limited, 5/1800 Clintons Road, Darfield RD1 7571, New Zealand.
The organisation that legally holds your information is Charlie and Ash Limited, a New Zealand registered company.
What we collect, and when
We only collect information you choose to give us, plus a small amount that is collected automatically when any website is visited.

Your quiz answers stay in your browser. The wellbeing statements you respond to in the quiz are scored on your own device and saved only in your browser’s local storage so you can pick the quiz back up. They are not sent to us. Only the email you enter and the name of the result you reached are sent when you ask for your result. You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive health information through the website. Coaching is not clinical care (see our terms).
Why we collect it
- to reply to your enquiry and, if you ask, tell you about working with us;
- to send you the free handbook and your quiz result when you request them;
- to send you updates and offers only if you have opted in, and only until you opt out;
- to run and improve the website.
We collect it directly from you for these purposes, and we do not use it for anything unrelated without asking you first.
Who holds it and who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the business. They process your information on our behalf, for the purposes above only.

Overseas disclosure. GoHighLevel, Resend, and Google Analytics are hosted in the United States, so information you give us is held and processed offshore. We rely on these providers’ own security and contractual protections. If you would rather not have your information handled offshore, contact us before submitting a form and we will tell you the alternatives (for most enquiries, emailing us directly is one).
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else except where we are required to by law.
Marketing email
We only send marketing email to people who have opted in. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by using it or by emailing us. Opting out of marketing does not stop the one-off transactional emails you have asked for (such as your quiz result).
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry and client information for as long as we are in contact with you and for up to two years after our last contact, then we delete it, unless the law requires us to keep some records longer (for example tax records). You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see “Your rights”).
Analytics and cookies
The website uses privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics from Vercel to understand traffic in aggregate. We also use Google Analytics 4, which sets analytics cookies and collects usage data in the United States; we use it only to understand how the site is used, not to identify you. The site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We tell you about analytics here rather than with a cookie banner; if you would rather not be counted, you can block or clear cookies in your browser settings and the site works exactly the same.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can:
- ask what we hold about you, and
- ask us to correct it if it is wrong.
You can also ask us to delete your information. To do any of these, email hello@charlieandash.co.nz. We will respond as soon as we can and within 20 working days. There is no charge for a routine request.
Keeping your information safe
We limit who can see your information to the two of us and the providers listed above, and we use reputable services with their own security controls. No online service can be guaranteed completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us and we do not put personal information in web addresses or error messages.
Children
The website and our coaching are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be made clear.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, please tell us first at hello@charlieandash.co.nz so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).
